ELMAR Dialogue and Networking Meeting, Gdańsk
Partners of the ELMAR project and representatives of the Lithuanian and German companies took part in the Dialogue & Networking meeting, organized in the formula of study visit to the boat and ship design company Nelton and the producer the recreational boats with PV-supported electric propulsion, located in Gdańsk - Green Boats.
Visit to Nelton included presentation of the company’s profile and currently developed projects, including a container vessel driven by an electric zero emission engine, clean class design. It is supposed to have adjustable range through flexible use of container space for batteries (depending on distance). The idea is based upon an assumption that an empty battery can be exchanged to a new fully charged one in the port of destination. Out of 700 containers the space for 40 containers must be used to power the vessel for 10 hours, which is a sufficient time to pass the route to another port. The vessel is dedicated to European routes.
Another project is a semi-autonomous coaster with remote servicing - online transfer of the performance parameters. The crew implements the instructions given remotely by engineers. The project is conducted in co-operation with sunship.de
The meeting also included the visit at the International Gdansk Fair (MTG S.A.), which representatives presented the INTERMARE South Baltic project, which aims to create a network of stakeholders (SMEs, companies, clusters, employers’ organizations, regional and local authorities, etc.) for a greater recognition of SMEs from the South Baltic region on international markets as well as better cooperation in the supply chains within the region. It is to be done also through participation in world-wide maritime fairs. Two fairs are still planned in 2019 (NOR-SHIPPING 2019, Oslo, Norway (4-7 June 2019);EUROPORT 2019 – 5-8 November 2019), and then a final fair in Gdańsk, planned at June 2020
